The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Aga Khan University, Karachi, is the regional leader in establishing high quality clinical service and academic programs. The current clinical facility consists of 81 beds including fast track, separate adult and paediatric emergency units, cardiac emergency, a clinical decision unit, resuscitation rooms, isolation rooms and triage. The main Emergency Room (ER) provides care to over 66,000 patients a year. Most patients require complex medical and surgical/trauma care. In addition, the department supervises a satellite emergency room.

Key Responsibilities:
The consultant (non-fulltime) will have an independent consultant status as on call faculty with clinical responsibilities, encompassing Adult and/ or Paediatric emergency medicine. The consultant physician will work collaboratively with other departments to strengthen throughput and will be supported for ongoing professional development in the field.
