Responsibilities
You will be responsible to;
Verify each patient's identification according to the lab tests requisition slips and check patient's status through verbal questioning to ensure that he/she fulfils the test requirements for collection of correct samples on a daily basis.
Performs accurate and gentle vein puncture procedures to collect blood, inject the same into the specific container(s) according to test requirements on a daily basis to provide quality service.
Explain phlebotomy procedures to patients for special lab tests according to the lab tests requirements in line with the laboratory protocol as and when required for collection of correct sample.
Assists in collecting blood from difficult veins and performs venipuncture on infants and pediatrics patients.
Centrifuge the specimen when required, make aliquots of serum /plasma into secondary tubes by ensuring proper labeling and store the sample at required temperature.
Responsible for packaging of samples according to requirement and hand over to transporter and maintaining the record.
Perform domiciliary phlebotomy service as and when required according to the laboratory protocol
Requirements
You should have:
Matriculation. Intermediate will be preferred
