Introduction:

The Department of Anaesthesia at the Aga Khan University Hospital provides perioperative care and other operating room facilities for all surgical procedures, intensive care to critically ill surgical patients in the surgical intensive care unit, as well as acute and chronic pain management services. Our department has a mix of anesthesiologists, qualified nurses, and highly trained surgical and anesthesia technicians. Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices, surgical procedures, and OR protocols.
• Ability to supervise, motivate, and support a multidisciplinary team under high-pressure conditions.
• Makes sound, timely decisions during emergencies or complex situations.
• Efficiently manages schedules, supplies, and staff to ensure smooth OR operations.
• Maintains a safe and sterile environment, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control standards
• Prioritizes tasks effectively in a fast-paced surgical setting.
• Actively engages in process evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with organizational regulations, and accreditation requirements.
• Maintains composure and clarity in high-stress surgical environments.
• Fosters a cooperative and respectful work culture among team.
• Clearly communicates with patients, families, physicians, and team members.
• Quickly identifies and resolves workflow, staffing, or clinical challenges.
• Demonstrates care for patients and supports staff well-being.

Requirements:

You should have:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in the related area
• OR Technician Diploma from an accredited body .
• at least 5 years of related experience preferably in an Operating Room
• Certification in:
• Basic Life Support
• Service Excellence
• Supervisory Skills
• Facility Management & Safety
• Safe Disclosure Policy Awareness
• Workplace Harassment Policy Awareness
• Personal Security Awareness (PSA)
• FAHM e-module
• Quality Improvement
• good interpersonal skills and communication skills, including spoken and written English
• good management and organizational skills
• excellent knowledge of basic software/programs
• ability to handle multiple tasks and perform under pressure.
