- Salary commencing at $72,088.20 per annum plus 12% superannuation (commensurate with experience).

The Opportunity
Moonee Valley City Council has an opportunity for a dedicated and motivated individual to assist in the care, maintenance and enhancement of the municipality’s Streetscapes, WSUD & Bike paths. As part of a team committed to providing high-quality services, this role helps ensure our outdoor spaces are maintained to the high standard expected by our community.
Responsibilities
- Undertake horticultural and park maintenance tasks, including planting, mowing, pruning, mulching, and general upkeep of parks, gardens, reserves and streetscapes.
- Safely operate and maintain a range of plant, machinery, tools and equipment, completing safety checks and reporting defects as required.
- Support and guide apprentices or other team members as delegated.
- Record all required operational activities on Council’s asset management system “Confirm”.
- Report maintenance issues, equipment conditions, and any public requests or complaints to supervisors as appropriate.
- Follow Council’s safety procedures and contribute to a safe and productive workplace.
Skills & Experience
- Certificate III in Horticulture and/or equivalent experience
- Experience in the safe and effective operation and maintenance of plant, machinery, tools and equipment relevant to the maintenance of parks and reserves
- This role involves physical tasks such as lifting, reaching, and bending. We welcome applicants of all abilities and can provide reasonable adjustments to support diverse physical needs.
- Experience working in and contributing to healthy team environment
- A current and valid Victorian Drivers Licence in conjunction with a medium rigid driver licence or willingness to obtain
