Working with the AA | Me mahi tahi tatou ki AA
For over 120 years the AA have been helping Kiwis on their adventures! Today, we're one of New Zealand's most respected and trusted brands. From our humble beginnings as a motoring enthusiast's club, the New Zealand AA (Automobile Association) has grown into a large, dynamic organisation offering many services and products to more than a million Members.
AA Driver Training covers the driving education and licensing services provided by the AA and includes professional driving lessons, defensive driving courses, licence test preparation, and coaching for drivers at all stages—from learners to experienced drivers. We now have an opportunity for an Education & Delivery Specialist to join the AA Driver Training team – on a 10 month fixed Term Contract.
What You'll Be Doing | Mō te Tūranga
As an Education & Delivery Specialist with AA Driver Training, you will play a key role in delivering and continuously improving our nationally recognised Defensive Driving Course (DDC), ensuring a high-quality and consistent experience across New Zealand. In this dynamic role, you’ll balance hands-on operational responsibility—supporting the day-to-day delivery of the programme, managing facilitator performance, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships—with forward-looking development work, contributing to the design and rollout of new offerings. AA Driver training continues to adapt and lead the sector through the upcoming GDLS changes due in January, ensuring our products, programmes, and people are ready to support learners under the new requirements.
Combining facilitation, quality oversight and innovation, you will lead “Train the Trainer” sessions, support capability uplift across the facilitator network, and help evolve our driver education products to meet the changing needs of Kiwi drivers, all while championing a learner-focused approach and a passion for road safety
About You | Mōu
You’ll bring experience in delivering engaging training in both classroom and practical settings, with a strong understanding of adult learning principles and a learner-centric approach. You’ll have proven ability to work across operational delivery and programme coordination, ideally supporting or managing training facilitators or instructors, and be confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience in road safety, driver training, or a related field is highly desirable, along with exposure to quality assurance, auditing, or maintaining training standards. You’ll be adaptable and resilient, comfortable balancing day-to-day operational responsibilities with contributing to the development of new training products, and have the confidence to facilitate sessions, coach others, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic, evolving environment.
What We Offer | Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou
