Job Purpose
Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of stock volumes and values across mining depots and in Conakry. To ensure the implementation and compliance with stock control procedures in order to safeguard company assets.
The role also involves maintaining accurate and efficient stock management, with correct and timely recording of all elements affecting pricing or margins. Stock-related processes and procedures must be continuously reviewed and improved by the incumbent, as well as by other employees involved in stock management.
Principal Accountabilities
- Ensure accurate stock valuation in accordance with Group accounting principles and legal requirements.
- Analyze, explain root causes, and correct any variances identified on a daily basis.
- Monitor unit costs of all products in the system and correct any unusual variations.
- Review and integrate landed costs for all products in the system; compare actual costs with provisions and correct abnormal variances.
- Ensure all sales orders and stock transfers are correctly recorded within the appropriate accounting period.
- Track and ensure timely payment of customs duties.
- Stabilize and maintain the inventory management module in SAP.
- Supervise accounts payable related to VEG hydrocarbon products.
- Clear balance sheet accounts and monitor outstanding transactions such as GRNI, duty claims, consignments, etc.
- Perform monthly reviews of key cost items and explain major variances.
- Provide necessary support to the Supply & Distribution (S&D) team on inventory-related matters.
- Ensure monthly physical stock counts are conducted in accordance with established procedures.
- Compare physical stock with book stock.
- Identify discrepancies, analyze root causes, and request accountability from relevant operational teams.
- Participate in monthly stock closing activities.
- Perform month-end stock reconciliations to verify SAP data accuracy.
- Reconcile all inventory accounts.
- Reconcile stock transfers.
- Ensure all stock transactions for the month are accurately recorded.
- Ensure that operational reconciliations are completed within the system.
- Monitor monthly inventory-related KPIs with the S&D team and implement improvement actions.

Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Business school or Master’s degree graduate (Financial Accounting & Management / Audit and Management Control)
- Finance background
- Experience in stock accounting (inventory accounting)
Competencies:
- Knowledge of stock accounting and inventory management (oil products and cylinders).
- Strong skills in general ledger accounting, with emphasis on stock accounting and purchase order processing.
- Good understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of depot operations, with ability to integrate operational and accounting requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
- Good supervisory and communication skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- Experience in the use of accounting software/packages.
- Integrity, honesty, and strong ability to resolve issues independently.
