The Associate Learning Experience Designer applies pedagogical knowledge in order to design and develop multiple online courses. This position partners closely with faculty and works as a critical team member, aligned to a cohesive vision for flexible, creative and high-quality learning experiences. The Associate LXD fuses instructional design skills with course building and basic user interface skill sets in order to create a user-friendly, contemporary and engaging learning experience online.
Job Responsibilities:
Design Work: Designs and develops online courses using contemporary development tools. Applies standards for course design and development within the course template. Utilize tools for course design and development and adhere to style guides and quality standards for unified and consistent learning experiences. Ensures learning design and content development are completed on time and meets standards of quality and best-practices in learning experience design. Complete instructional design documentation to ensure quality and consistency. Conduct initial course review and scope consultation for course revisions in the college for which they serve as primary. Complete course revisions per tier determination. 50%
Relationship-Building: Works with faculty to design and develop in the Learning Management System (LMS) credit and non-credit courses that are objective-aligned and engaging learning experiences within established design framework and cycle timelines. Serve as primary lead for programs. Responsible for coordinating with program directors and ensuring quality and timely completion of courses for programs in colleges they serve as primary leads. Mentor Assistant LXD(s) to coach them on establishing relationships with faculty during the design & development process. 25%
Faculty Professional Development: Facilitate faculty professional development offerings on designing, building, and teaching Online and blended courses. Collaborate with Sr. LXD and D&D team to explore and develop new faculty professional development opportunities. 15%

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Instructional design, instructional technology, or a similar role within an education setting with 3 years of experience working as an instructional designer or a similar role within a higher education setting.

Specific Experience:
Functional experience in building multimedia assets. Well versed in working in a Learning Management System (LMS). Expertise in instructional technology and multimedia authoring tools.
