Employer Services Advisor
We are currently looking for an Employer Services Advisor to work as a critical team member in the Assessment Services Department. You will be accountable for ensuring employers operating in the province comply with the registration and reporting requirements of the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Act (the Act).
You will play a key role in educating employers about WorkplaceNL’s employer programs and services along with the provision of user support for employer web services. Compliance and education are achieved primarily through day-to-day contact (written, telephone or in-person) with employers and their representatives, as well as through established processes which can be ongoing or at specific times throughout the employer lifecycle.
Role Responsibilities
Some key responsibilities of the Employer Services Advisor include:
- Ensures the employer file is accurately maintained and up to date. This information is used throughout WorkplaceNL by employer, worker and support departments.
- Ensures employers are registered, reporting and paying assessments which guarantees the operating costs of the worker’s compensation system and ensures they are fairly and equitably distributed to all employers.
- Communication skills are critical to all processes involving employers in order to draw critical information from the employer and to ensure that the employer has a clear understanding of their duties, responsibilities and information requirements under the Act.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Three-year business administration or relevant diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution. Supplemental course work in Public Administration, Public Policy or Decision Writing would be an asset.
- Experience in a financial or insurance environment would be an asset.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation in order to make independent decisions through analyzing, investigating and weighing information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to diffuse conflict with clients.
- Highly motivated individual who demonstrates initiative and a strong client service focus.
- Able to exercise tact and good judgment and work in a team environment.
- Have advanced organizational and time management skills.

Experience and an educational equivalency will be considered.
