Job Summary
We are seeking a Technical Specialist to join the Office of CIO – Product team, with a technical specialization in HPNOW – Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM). In this role, you will support product development by translating portfolio priorities into actionable work, coordinating across stakeholders, and driving visibility through clear reporting and dashboards (Power BI/Power Apps), enabling disciplined execution across the portfolio.
Applies developed subject matter knowledge in strategic portfolio management, software/product delivery, and tooling to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Able to handle unique situations through structured analysis, collaboration, and technical problem solving.
Responsibilities
Bring a broad view, knowledge, and experience of HPNOW Strategic Portfolio Management and apply it to enable product delivery within the Office of CIO – Product team.
Support portfolio planning and execution for the Office of CIO – Product team by helping define, refine, and track epics/features and the underlying technical work with product and engineering teams, using HPNOW SPM practices and tooling.
Drive stakeholder management for the Office of CIO – Product team and partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Operations, and business stakeholders to align priorities, dependencies, and milestones across the HPNOW SPM portfolio.
Foster a delivery and quality mindset within the Office of CIO – Product team by enabling clear technical requirements, strong definitions of done, and root-cause oriented problem solving in partnership with engineering teams.
Drive tooling and process improvements for portfolio visibility for the Office of CIO – Product team, including reporting, dashboards, and automation using Power BI/Power Apps (and related data sources), aligned to HPNOW SPM standards.
Support the Office of CIO – Product team in identifying and addressing delivery, technical, and operational risks; ensure adherence to HP IT/security policies and compliance requirements where applicable.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline; or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in product/engineering delivery, strategic portfolio management, PMO delivery support, or a related technical field; or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.
Preferred Certifications
• Agile/Scrum (preferred) or equivalent product delivery certification
• ITIL (optional)
