Your Responsibilities:
The Senior Risk Analyst – Plant Automation and Operational Technology (OT) will play a key role in assessing and managing information systems risks and controls within Archer Daniels Midland (ADM)'s Plant Automation and Operating Technology (OT) division. This position involves driving risk management programs, aligning technology risk activities, and contributing to efforts that mitigate risks associated with technology usage.
The Senior Risk Analyst will lead risk assessments, manage remediation efforts, and track progress to address security control gaps. Leveraging data from various sources, the Senior Risk Analyst will evaluate security programs, identify risks and control gaps, categorize risks based on severity, and recommend mitigation strategies.
This role also includes conducting onboarding and ongoing due diligence for third-party relationships, analyzing risk and control data, and providing metrics and reports to support management decision-making. The Senior Risk Analyst will oversee the full lifecycle of risks, ensuring that vendors, joint-venture partners, and suppliers adhere to ADM’s risk tolerance thresholds.
- OT Risk Assessments – Lead risk assessments on industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, and PLC environments to identify vulnerabilities in OT/plant automation
- Cybersecurity Control Validation – Evaluate the effectiveness of security controls (e.g., network segmentation, access management) specifically tailored for OT environments to reduce risk of lateral movement by threats
- Third-Party Onboarding – Conduct reviews and risk assessments for new OT vendors and automation partners during the onboarding phase
- Continuous Monitoring and Due Diligence – Manage the lifecycle of third-party risk by performing periodic assessments and performance reviews of existing global service providers
- Vulnerability Prioritization – Collaborate with plant engineering teams to analyze vulnerability scans and prioritize patching or compensating controls without disrupting production schedules
- Reporting & Decision Support – Translate technical risks into high-level risk reports and dashboards for senior leadership to drive informed remediation decisions
- Incident Liaison – Act as the risk subject matter expert (SME) during OT-related security incidents, helping to assess impact and guide recovery strategies
- Standards Alignment – Ensure OT/plant automation projects align with frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and ADM Control Framework (ACF)
- Compliance Monitoring – Develop a mechanism to monitor and report on the adherence of local plant operations to global IT/OT security policies and regulatory requirements
- Metrics – Analyze and report on IT security controls and risk exposure, contributing to monthly and quarterly management reports
- Additional duties as assigned
Your Profile:- 7–10 years of progressive experience in IT risk management, cybersecurity, or internal audit, with at least 3 years specifically focused on operational technology (OT) or industrial control systems (ICS)
- Experience applying risk management or security control frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-30, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-39, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-82). Experience applying risk management or security governance principles in an operations technology (OT) or plant automation environment
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related technology/information security field is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for education requirements
- Technical Expertise
- Familiarity with automation hardware (Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley) and protocols
- Proficiency with governance, risk and compliance (GRC) software is required. Power BI reporting and business intelligence software skills helpful
- Certifications
- At least one certification is preferred, such as CISSP, CRISC, CISA, GICSP, or GRID
