Basic Function
Paint Technician reports to Paint Supervisor for all Internal and External Aircraft Minor Paint Touch up /Repair related activities, ensuring that all functions and requirements are fulfilled and coordinated in accordance with Etihad Engineering and Aviation Authorities requirements.
- Carry out work in compliance with company, health and safety and airport procedures and regulations
- Maintains a FOD free working area and cleans up bay area before and after work.
- Performs inspections as required prior using GSE equipment and report any deficiencies.
- Assures that all material, parts, tools, equipment and documentation is prepared at the beginning of the shift.
- To ensure paint expiry dates not exceeded prior aircraft application.
- Ensures understanding of assigned paint tasks
- To liaise with the engineer who will be responsible for the CRS certification of paint tasks.
- Ensures that maintenance is carried out to the required standards of quality, and that the correct technical approach is adopted.
- Ensure paint related tasks are performed to aviation standard and company expectation.
- Monitors aircraft documentation to ensure it is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure written and physical Handovers are documented and followed up between shifts.
- Attends all aircraft as assigned
- At the end of shift, ensures that the stand is clear/free of equipment, tooling and spares.
- Ensures that all unused serviceable and unserviceable items are returned to stores with the correct label attached.
- Maintains equipment and premises utilized by maintenance staff in a serviceable, clean and safe condition.
- Ensures that all items taken from stores are correctly labeled, before being delivered to the aircraft.
- Behaves in a manner which reflects a professional approach when dealing with customers.
- Keeps himself updated on new Technical Notices, Quality Notices, Company policies and Procedures
- As appropriate, wear equipment provided by the company for health and safety reasons and promote corporate image.
- Familiar with, enforce and follow the procedures stipulated in the Safety & Quality Management Manual SQMM and become an active participant in the workplace safety program
- Accepts appropriate training that will enable a more effective contribution
- Encourage colleagues by being actively involved in the promotion of a positive reporting culture.
- Obtain necessary approvals prior to starting paint work
- High school certificate or equivalent
- Back ground in Aircraft – Exterior & Interior Painting
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in aircraft Painting Exterior & Interior.
- Awareness of Good Housekeeping;
