The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Responsibilities:
Facilitates structured, dialogue-based learning experiences that support the University’s constructive dialogue initiative and broader engagement and enrichment goals for students, faculty, and staff across the university campus, medical center, and affiliated sites. Collaborates to provide subject matter expertise on dialogue facilitation and ensure the curriculum reflects real-world learning needs. Partners with institutional leaders and departments to assess learning needs, adapt curricula, and ensure alignment with the strategic priorities of the Office of Engagement and Enrichment (OEE). Delivers high-quality, interactive workshops and training programs across the University, guiding participants through complex discussions while maintaining a respectful, constructive learning environment. Provides ongoing feedback on program effectiveness and learner engagement to support continuous improvement of educational programming.
Essential Functions:
- Facilitates structured, dialogue-based educational programs focused on engagement and enrichment across in-person, online, and hybrid learning environments. Leads workshops and training sessions that support the University’s constructive dialogue initiative, guiding participants through complex conversations and helping individuals engage productively across differing viewpoints. Manages group dynamics, responds to challenging or sensitive discussions in real time, and maintains a respectful and constructive learning environment. Applies deep subject matter knowledge of dialogue facilitation to ensure conversations remain aligned with established curriculum objectives while allowing participants to explore perspectives and experiences. Utilizes effective instructional and facilitation techniques, including group discussion, guided dialogue, demonstration, workshops, and other interactive learning methods. Adapts facilitation approach to meet the needs of various audiences while maintaining fidelity to established curriculum and program structure.
- Provides consulting services to leaders throughout the enterprise to determine the appropriate educational approach for a given group and to support positive outcomes in alignment with OEE’s strategic goals and initiatives. Supports the curriculum development and refinement. Collaborates with the design team to ensure learning materials reflect real-world facilitation experiences and address participant needs. Reviews existing curricula and provides feedback based on facilitation experience and participant engagement to support ongoing program improvement. Supports the identification of emerging themes or learning needs based on dialogue sessions and shares insights with the program development lead.
- Completes documentation regarding all educational sessions for use in future learning development. Ensures documentation for each educational request and learning series is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible. Helps to create and refine evaluation systems and evaluations to gather feedback related to the learning experience and participant engagement. Reviews and summarizes education session evaluations and identifies trends. Compiles feedback and data and works collaboratively with the team to address and act upon common themes.
- Participates in team discussions related to program effectiveness, facilitation practices, and emerging participant needs. Functions as the process owner for one or more work processes, including but not limited to Boundless book club, Airtable, etc. Provides expert input regarding considerations for forms, workflows, policies, and organizational processes. Applies state-of-the-art concepts and techniques to conceptualize, create, implement, and evaluate education and training strategies and processes in support of the Strategic Plan. Participates in professional development opportunities, workshops, and practice facilitation sessions to strengthen dialogue facilitation skills and maintain subject matter expertise.

Minimum Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field and 2 years of experience in education, training, or orientation, and related consulting experience required.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 4 years of experience in adult education preferred.
- Experience in the health care environment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate complex group discussions and navigate sensitive or challenging topics while maintaining a constructive learning environment required.
- Strong ability to manage group dynamics, respond to unexpected dialogue developments, and guide conversations back to program objectives required.
- Deep knowledge of dialogue facilitation practices and the ability to represent the organization appropriately during discussions involving differing perspectives required.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in real time while facilitating discussions to ensure conversations remain respectful, productive, and aligned with organizational expectations required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
- Strong organizational and facilitation skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Demonstrated expertise in adult learning theory, pedagogy of the oppressed, theater of the oppressed, educational simulation, workshop facilitation, online learning, didactic learning, clinical education, flipped classroom, or instructional design preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to assess learning experiences and iterate content based upon feedback preferred.
