The Account Director, Industrial will be accountable for driving end‑to‑end industrial account performance across international markets. They will own strategy definition, financial outcomes (growth, margin, cash), NPI development and launches, and cross‑functional execution within a global matrix organization, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. They will build senior‑level customer relationships globally, drive targeted collaboration priorities, and identify opportunities to expand the industrial business portfolio. They will define and implement effective working modes between GTX and industrial customers, lead the North America industrial business build beyond core accounts, and support the global scale‑up of industrial sales and customer engineering capabilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Commercial, Financial & Strategic Leadership
- Own overall performance of a customer‑driven industrial business scope, including full P&L accountability, within a global matrix organization.
- Define, implement and monitor business performance indicators across a multi‑disciplinary team, ensuring disciplined execution against agreed industrial, operational and financial objectives.
- Deliver against ambitious financial commitments, including revenue growth, margin performance and cash generation, consistent with long‑cycle industrial programs.
- Drive excellence in customer satisfaction, including quality, delivery performance, technology deployment and overall value proposition, while ensuring pricing approaches are aligned with industrial strategy and program economics.
- Contribute to the definition and execution of mid‑ to long‑term business strategies (3–5 years), secure leadership alignment, and translate strategy into clear priorities and execution roadmaps.
- Support global coordination of industrial business activities, including program launches, opportunity development and portfolio expansion initiatives.
- Contribute to and support key business governance and planning processes, including annual operating plans (AOP), strategic roadmaps and regular management reviews.
- Industrial Account & Business Development Leadership
- Build and sustain senior‑level customer relationships across regions and organizational levels, enabling structured, multi‑level engagement and long‑term industrial partnerships.
- Drive the execution of targeted technical and operational collaboration priorities to strengthen customer integration and program effectiveness.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the industrial business portfolio into adjacent applications, platforms and markets.
- Lead the North America industrial business build beyond core accounts, focusing on prioritized key customers and applications while ensuring disciplined portfolio selection.
- Support the identification, qualification and development of new industrial opportunities aligned with Garrett’s technology roadmap and manufacturing capabilities.
- Cross‑Functional & Matrix Leadership
- Lead and coordinate cross‑functional teams (e.g. industrial sales, program management, applications, quality, operations, industrialization and finance) within a global matrix environment.
- Define and manage a prioritized portfolio of initiatives and industrial programs, including associated cross‑functional resource requirements.
- Prepare and manage planning activities (including AOP), ensuring alignment with agreed priorities, investment assumptions and capacity considerations.
- Oversee program execution from concept through launch, ensuring delivery against time, cost, quality and performance targets, and compliance with internal development and quality frameworks.
- Ensure structured and timely resolution of customer‑related issues through effective cross‑functional collaboration and escalation where required.
- Promote standardized processes, governance and best‑practice sharing across teams and regions.
- Maintain close collaboration with peer leaders to ensure consistent, globally aligned customer team models, operating principles and ways of working.
- People, Capability & Performance Management
- Provide strong leadership and direction to support future industrial business development and organizational effectiveness.
- Support the global build‑up and maturation of the industrial sales organization and customer engineering support capabilities.
- Drive the application of continuous improvement and operational excellence principles across teams and programs.
- Monitor performance, risks and execution through established review, reporting and governance mechanisms.
- Develop, attract and retain talent, and remove barriers to performance through effective leadership, robust management processes and disciplined resource planning
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experienced industrial sales or account manager from the compressor, oil & gas or closely related industrial technology sectors, with a proven track record in global key account management.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience leading cross‑functional teams in complex, international industrial or technology‑driven environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing customer‑driven industrial business scopes, including financial accountability and long‑cycle programs.
- Proven ability to operate effectively within global matrix organizations across regions and cultures.
- Proven experience managing customer‑driven industrial business scopes with P&L accountability.
- Strong value‑based selling capability combined with technical and engineering understanding
