We are a seeking a Chief Executive Officer to oversee and run "The Automotive Center of Excellence – Cambodia (AEC-C)". This is a professional TVET training school built to prepare Cambodia's next generation of automotive mechanical service and repair, and denting and painting, technicians.
ACE-C is born of a partnership between Kangan Institute Australia and RMA Cambodia, with significant support from Cambodia's Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, with support from. ACE-C delivers hands-on, job-ready training that meets international standards — right here in Cambodia.
ACE-C's mission is to provide internationally recognized, hands-on training that equips Cambodians with the skills demanded by Cambodia's automotive industry today and into the future. The mission is spearheaded by its innovative Earn and Learn Apprenticeships, delivered using state-of-the-art technology and student management systems, as well as a suite of online courseware.
Key responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership and Governance - provide clear and decisive leadership to guide ACE-C through its establishment and growth phase
- Workforce Establishment and Capability Development - lead the recruitment of professional trainers drawn from the industry, and ensure alignment with ACE-C's delivery model
- Program Delivery and Quality Assurance - oversee delivery of programs, including learning and work readiness certifications, whilst complying to regulatory and industry requirements
- Student Recruitment and Market Positioning - lead development and execution of student recruitment and enrolment strategies.
- Industry Engagement and Partnership Development - build deep, trusted relationships with employers, industry associations, and government stakeholders
- Financial Management and Business Modelling - Validate and refine course pricing models, ensure operations are financially sustainable and scalable
- Operational Excellence - Ensure effective day‑to‑day operations across education delivery, student services, and administration.
- Compliance and Risk Management - Embed compliance with Cambodian regulatory requirements, ACE‑C policies, and relevant BKI governance standards
Key selection criteria
- Demonstrated success leading organisations or major initiatives through start‑up or transformation phases
- Experience building teams and organisational capability in emerging or ambiguous environments
- Strong commercial and financial management capability, including pricing and business modelling
- Proven ability to engage industry partners and secure partnerships or co‑investment
- High‑level communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Experience in vocational education, workforce development, or adult learning (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated results delivery in fast‑paced environments.
- Experience working effectively in cross‑cultural contexts (desirable)
Other requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in business, education, management, or a related field.
- Ability to travel within Cambodia as required.
- Commitment to ACE‑C values, including child safety, diversity, inclusion, and environmental responsibility.
- Compliance with criminal record checks, visa, and work‑permit requirements.
- Completion of a technical apprenticeship or other hands-on vocational training
