| What we are looking for Reporting to the Manager, RTR Participant Services, the Operations Analyst is responsible and accountable for executing defined operational processes and procedures related to RTR participants while exercising good judgement and managing risk to the enterprise risk tolerance. The Operations Analyst is an important subject matter expert on the RTR operations and participant services, providing analysis and recommendations based on their expertise and research. | A day in the life Responsibilities of the Operations Analyst position will include but is not limited to:
RTR Participant Services Operations • Executing operational processes relating to the RTR ecosystem lifecycle, including onboarding, change management, suspension and offboarding of participants and other entities. • Acting as a subject matter expert on RTR operations and participant services for internal planning, change management, rules, policy and roadmap discussions. • Driving the analysis of the business needs of members and stakeholders, assessing potential solutions to identified issues and identifying opportunities for added value or improvement. • Maintaining and authoring participant documentation, keeping it up to date in the face of regular change. • Supporting the compliance function through active monitoring and reporting on RTR participant metrics. • Planning and executing change in response to participant service requests, including coordination with RTR operate partners.
Communications and Stakeholder Relations • Monitoring and coordinating responses to RTR inquiries from participants and other stakeholders as well as the general public. • Supporting the new participant funnel by acting as an onboarding subject matter expert in calls with new prospects led by Industry Relations. • Managing the work related to assigned internal or external RTR committees, including agenda management, development of meeting materials, scheduling and communication. • Coordinating industry participation, planning and execution of regular testing exercises such as business continuity, disaster recovery and suspension exercises. • Maintaining positive relationships with participants to aid in identifying participant pain points, opportunities to improve RTR processes and systems, new product features, issues and risks to the safety and soundness of the RTR system. | What you need to be successful • Post-secondary education in a relevant area (Business, Economics, Commerce, or related discipline). • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in a business administration, research, or business analysis related position, preferably in the financial sector. • Understanding of retail payment functions (e.g., payment types, roles of direct and indirect participants, rules and operational processes). • Experience in conducting business analysis functions for IT related initiatives. • Knowledge of the Canadian financial services industry. • Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks. • Travel within Canada may be required.

| Salary range • Based on qualifications and experience: $73,500 to $122,500.
