| What we are looking for The Lead, High Value Payment Systems Operations is a key contributor in supporting day-to-day business operations of the High Value Payments System. In collaboration with the Manager, High Value Payment Systems Operations, they ensure that all business processes, communications, and support activities are performed in an efficient and timely manner, and that all processes are effectively completed. They act as the owner of business initiatives related to the identification, evaluation and development of a series of standards used by Payments Canada, in addition to auditing of other various areas. | A day in the life Responsibilities of the Lead, High Value Payment Systems Operations position will include but is not limited to: Business Services and Operations • Supporting ongoing operations and business issues relating to Payments Canada high-value payment system – Lynx. • Providing subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders for any matters related to Payments Canada payment operations, rules and standards. • Assisting with the identification of departmental budgetary needs (i.e. associated with Lynx projects and activities). • Conducting ongoing Business Operations, Support, and monitoring of High Value system. • Understanding developments in the broader payments environment and the implications on current operations at Payments Canada. Leadership and Program/Project Delivery • Providing subject matter expertise and acting as lead on the Payments Canada operational committees. • Mentorship and guidance to staff within the Payments team on matters related to the Lynx and the ongoing support of the operational sub-committees, task forces or as assigned by the management team. Contacts and Communication • Providing a business expertise interface role between Payments Canada management, Financial Institutions, the Bank of Canada, and other external stakeholders, ensuring that issues impacting members or Payments Canada are identified and resolutions analyzed.
| What you need to be successful • University degree or college diploma in Business Administration or related field • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a finance/payments environment including 5 years’ progressive coaching/mentoring experience • Experience in establishing relationships with internal and external stakeholders • Advanced knowledge of Lynx operational policies, rules and functionality • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Reliability Status Clearance and can successfully complete enhanced background checks that may be carried out by Payments Canada. • Overtime and on-call support based on operational requirements will be required. • Occasional travel may be required.

| Salary range • Based on qualifications and experience: $88,500 to $147,500.
