What to expect Context
We are looking for a Global Head of Helath & Safety to lead our Global Health and Safety team and guide the organisation reach our goal of becoming a true Sustainable Safe and Healthy Company
You will be working Globally across all Divisions of Aperam. You will be working in close collaboration with the Divisional H&S Leads, Site Managers, Local Health and Safety Teams and other Transversal functions.
Main purpose of this role
- You will provide leadership, mentoring and direction for all Aperam sites and employees worldwide on Health & Safety and Process Safety (PS).
- You will set the strategic vision and direction for the company’s Health & Safety.
- You will ensure consistent application of Aperam’s vision as it relates to PS Policies and Standards throughout the company’s business units.
- You will develop, drive and sustain a strong global H&S Culture.
- You will create and lead a community of H&S/PS Professionals that support the Aperam business.
- You will represent Aperam in appropriate professional organisations (national / International).
Key areas of responsibility
- Set Strategic direction to cultivate a positive H&S Culture, drive continuous improvement of PS Programs and ensure Company business and compliance goals are achieved.
- Coordinate H&S staff at site level to maximize organisational impact by fostering collaborative interactions.
- Develop and guide implementation of Policies, Standards and guidelines that support Aperam’s philosophies and business needs.
- Evaluate regulatory trends to determine operational, financial or other business impacts and implement industry best practices.
- Creating, implementing and auditing H&S/PS training programs.
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
- Support H&S/PS audits and ensure regulatory compliance and Aperam’s PS Policies/ Standards at operating units through surveys of physical conditions, observed activities, record reviews and status of PS Programs.
What you will bring
- Master Degree in a relevant field (H&S/ PS).
- 5-10 years in a senior role in an industrial/manufacturing environment with experience of H&S and PS. Environmental experience will be considered as a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills and ability to challenge constructively.
- Strong influencing and change management skills.
- Effective team working and networking skills and the ability to work with a high level of autonomy.
- The ability to plan, prioritize and organise your own workload.
- Extensive knowledge of effective H&S and PS management strategies and best practice.
- Fluent in English. Any other language between French, Dutch, German would be considered as a strong plus.
