As a Graduate IT Service Engineer, your role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house ICT systems that support core organisational functions across the Heartland business.
You'll achieve this by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimising all (but not limited to) ICT hardware, networks, telephony, communications, software, desktop and printing, local and enterprise applications and associated operating systems as required across the Heartland business.
Reporting to the IT Service Delivery Manager, you'll provide 1st and 2nd level technical services and support for Heartland's group ICT operations. This role is actively involved in the support of Heartland WAN, LAN, hardware, server and client operating systems and applications.

You're someone with strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, able to quickly understand technical issues and provide effective support to internal users. You're known for being approachable, easy to work with, and confident in delivering high‑quality IT service.
You’ve got:
Experience in a service desk or complex IT support environment
Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure, O365, and Citrix
Strong phone communication skills, including the ability to understand and triage issues from both technical and non‑technical users in a phone‑based support setting
The ability to manage multiple issues at once
Solid understanding of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
Application support experience
Proven knowledge of PC operating systems
You're also:
A team player
A strong communicator - both verbally and in writing
A problem solver who can work at pace and use initiative
Able to prioritise escalations effectively and be flexible when required to accommodate change
Someone who is able to consider issues from a range of angles and propose creative solutions that assist the business in achieving its goals in a safe, compliant and controlled manner
Relevant industry specific qualifications in the following technologies are preferred:
Microsoft
ITIL
Citrix
Cisco
