Position Overview: Oversee production inspection processes to ensure that all products meet and/or exceed customer standards. Responsibilities include inspecting and testing products at various stages of production and providing verification that inspection results are accurately reported. This includes documenting and containing non-conforming production processes, parts, and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implementing methods to inspect, test, and evaluate production parts and services
- Ensure that products adhere to quality, regulatory, industry, and customer standards
- Prepare inspection documents for conformance, shipment, and source inspections. This includes oversight of accurate inspection reports, outside service certifications, conformance requirements, and analyzing data packages for customer approval
- Provide leadership and workflow organization to meet deadlines for the delivery of products, services, source inspections, and on-time delivery • Educate and manage inspection personnel on inspection methodologies, gauges, and practices that provide accurate and reliable quality assessment of requirements
- Track products and workflow through the manufacturing processes to guarantee that manufacturing inspection operations are correct
- Perform reviews of detailed and recorded inspections on final products to validate that customer, industry, regulatory, and Trace-A-Matic standards are met
- Contain and/or eliminate products that are non-conforming. Evaluate non-conformances for repair, rework and/or salvage operations. Lead customer reviews to obtain the necessary deviations, waivers, or ship-as-is approval.
- Support non-conformance root-cause investigations and determine prevention actions to eliminate recurrence
- Develop year-over-year continuous improvement goals and objectives
Requirements
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for collaborating with teams, reporting to customers and the Trace-A-Matic management team
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and guide teams towards achieving quality goals and key performance objectives.
- A meticulous approach to reviewing processes and products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Familiarity with AS9100D industry-specific quality standards and best practices are essential.
- Proficient in using gauges, statistical tools, and software for quality control
- Understanding and optimizing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness is a key responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in a related field like business, engineering, or quality management is required.
- Experience and/or Training: 5+ years of manufacturing quality experience with personnel supervision/leadership Licenses/Certificates: Additional professional certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Blackbelt, and Probitas Certified Lead-Auditor for AS9100D/ISO 9001 are preferred.
