Senior Catering and Event Sales Manager – full time
Cordis Auckland is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Catering & Events Sales Manager to lead our events sales function and deliver outstanding events experiences from enquiry through to execution. This is a hands-on, client-facing role suited to someone who thrives on building relationships, driving revenue, and coordinating seamless events in a fast-paced hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage large scale events end-to-end from enquiry through to delivery, ensuring a seamless client experience and strong commercial outcomes.
Handle enquiries across all channels, qualify leads, follow up by phone, and deliver proposals within 24 hours.
Drive revenue through upselling and packaging, identifying opportunities to improve conversion and profitability.
Prepare and action key event documentation (BEOs/change logs, floorplans, rundowns) and coordinate closely with operations to deliver on the day.
Provide guidance to the Catering & Events Sales team, supporting negotiations, problem-solving, and workload coordination, while working closely with the Director of Catering & Events Sales.
Our Ideal Candidate
Proven experience in hotel events/catering sales (MICE exposure preferred) with confidence managing multiple events and tight deadlines.
Strong commercial and stakeholder management skills, with a natural ability to negotiate and upsell.
Highly organised and detail-focused, with excellent written and verbal communication.
A proactive team player who can mentor others and stay calm under pressure.
Professional, service-driven, and aligned with delivering high-quality experiences for every client.
