People & Wellbeing Officer

The Role

As a People and Wellbeing Officer, you will play an important operational role within the People & Culture team, supporting the effective delivery of people services across the employee lifecycle.

You will combine strong HR administration capability with coordination of employee wellbeing initiatives and workplace health and safety processes. You will act as the internal administrative point of contact for our external safety provider, ensuring documentation, compliance tracking and follow-through are maintained to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role ideal for an organised and proactive HR professional who enjoys variety and making a tangible impact across people, wellbeing and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR administrative support across onboarding, employee variations and offboarding
• Maintain accurate HRIS records, employee documentation and compliance reporting
• Support recruitment coordination, pre-employment checks and structured onboarding processes
• Coordinate employee wellbeing programs, engagement activities and culture initiatives
• Act as the primary internal point of contact for the external safety provider
• Manage safety documentation including incident reports, hazard registers, training records and policy updates
• Track safety actions, audits and compliance requirements to ensure follow-through
• Provide first-level support for general employee relations queries and assist with performance management processes
• Escalate safety or compliance risks appropriately to senior People leaders

Skills and Experience

• 2+ years’ experience in a People & Culture, HR or coordination-based role
• Exposure to wellbeing, safety or compliance administration (desirable)
• Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence handling sensitive and confidential information
• Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office
• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Health & Safety or a related discipline (or working towards)
