1ABOUT US
The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities. We believe in doing good that transforms lives and futures for the better. It is this belief which drives us to find new ways and places where we can make a difference. From times of personal crisis to moments of national grief, we are always here — providing support, safety, community, and opportunity.
Withdrawal is one of the most vulnerable and courageous steps a person can take in their recovery journey. In this role, you become a steady, compassionate presence at a time when people need it most. You’ll walk alongside participants as they stabilise, rebuild confidence and reconnect with their strengths. Your support can be the difference between someone feeling alone in their struggle and feeling genuinely hopeful about their future.
As a Case Worker in our residential Withdrawal Unit, you will provide intensive case management and psychosocial support to participants as they navigate the early stages of recovery. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, therapeutic environment where people feel respected, understood and empowered.
Your days will include one-on-one support, facilitate group activities, and helping participants access community supports. You’ll also accompany participants offsite when needed — whether that’s attending appointments, community activities or simply supporting them to reconnect with everyday life.
This permanent part-time position is worked across Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (7.6 hours per day), generally between 8am and 4pm, with some flexibility available. This permanent part time position is within the Withdrawal Services team, reporting to the Nurse Team Leader. Pay is in accordance with a SCHADS Level 5.
