The Salvation Army Aged Care is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Chaplain to join our team at Kubirri Aged Care Centre in Mossman, QLD.
Located in the beautiful town of Mossman, Kubirri Aged Care Centre has 42 rooms that provide the best of both worlds. The Centre has a tranquil backdrop of the Mossman River, views of open farmlands and yet is only a couple of minutes away from the Mossman town centre, hospital and local attractions.
In consultation with the community, industry experts and peers, Kubirri is designed for aged care in the tropics. Our home offers a warm, inviting community atmosphere. The aim is to make residents feel at home, have more privacy and stay connected. The Centre also leads the way with a sustainable design to minimise our environmental footprint.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Christian Chaplain to be part of our mission-driven team, providing spiritual guidance, pastoral care, and emotional support to our residents, their families, and our dedicated staff.
About the Role
As a Chaplain at Kubirri Aged Care Centre, you will play a key role in fostering a sense of community, belonging, and spiritual enrichment for our residents, families, and staff. This full-time position will see you:
Providing spiritual, pastoral, and emotional support to residents, families, and staff.
Leading chapel services, spiritual/reminiscence groups, and memorial services.
Offering prayer and pastoral care, helping residents find meaning, purpose, and connection in their journey of aging.
Acting as an integral member of the leadership team, providing support to the Centre Manager and contributing to decision-making.
Representing the centre at Salvation Army Local leadership gatherings and offering care and support in line with The Salvation Army's mission to share the love of Jesus.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A strong commitment to the Christian faith and The Salvation Army's mission.
The ability to offer prayer and pastoral care with compassion and sensitivity.
Experience in leading chapel services and conducting funerals / memorial services.
A solid understanding of chaplaincy principles and practices, especially in relation to aged care.
A Diploma of Chaplaincy or a willingness to obtain one within two years, funded by The Salvation Army.
A uniformed Salvationist or a committed Christian who is active in their church and has a heart for serving others.
The ability to wear a recognisable Salvation Army uniform and represent The Salvation Army with integrity.
A current driver’s license and a reliable registered vehicle.
A letter of reference from your minister/pastor or Officer is essential.
