SriLankan Aviation College (SLAC),
the premier training arm of SriLankan Airlines, has over four decades of experience in delivering internationally recognized aviation and corporate training programmes. Accredited by leading global and regional regulatory bodies including International Air Transport Association (IATA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and the Civil Aviation Authorities of Sri Lanka (CAASL) and other regional countries, SLAC is also affiliated with internationally recognized aviation institutions such as Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the European Aviation Maintenance Training Committee. The Role:
General Manager - SLAC will serve as the architect of SLAC’s future, ensuring the institutionalization of global teaching methodologies and world-class instructional standards. This role is focused on driving academic excellence—consistently, evidenced by high student pass rates and professional success—while demanding a unique blend of academic rigor, commercial acumen, and high-level corporate governance
Key Accountabilities:
Lead SriLankan Aviation College (SLAC) as a Strategic Business Unit, aligning training delivery and business operations with organizational goals and global market needs, while positioning it as a globally competitive aviation academy. Drive the integration of AR/VR and AI-driven learning technologies to enhance and modernize aviation education.
Develop and implement strategic business plans, growth initiatives, and operational strategies to enhance profitability, strengthen market positioning, and support the long-term sustainability and expansion of SLAC.
Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue generation activities, ensuring effective cost management, optimal resource utilization, and sustainable financial performance across all operational areas.
Ensure all training operations, academic programmes, and related activities fully comply with applicable regulatory, quality, and accreditation standards, including CAASL, IATA, EASA, ISO, and other relevant international aviation and training requirements.
Build a high-performance, customer-focused culture by developing strong leadership and expert faculty, fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement, while elevating SLAC as a “SriLankan Excellence” brand and key talent pipeline for the national carrier and global aviation industry.
Provide timely, accurate, and strategic insights, recommendations, and performance updates to the CEO and Board of Directors on all aspects of SLAC’s operational, financial, and strategic performance, supporting informed decision making and business growth.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years’ work experience at Managerial level in a relevant discipline.
OR
Full professional qualification equivalent to a degree with 10 years’ post qualifying experience at managerial level in a relevant discipline.

Experience as an Academic Head, Dean, or Institute Head with a proven track record in managing overall business operations in a relevant discipline will be considered an added advantage.
