We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to support our Central Warehouse and Inspection team by ensuring all materials submitted for testing are tested and released to the requesters within the stipulated time period in order to facilitate timely garment assembly, on time delivery of goods to customers whilst being overall in charge of the testing laboratory, inspection area.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend to pending approvals and follow up relevant testing processes.
Communicate with technical officers in order to determine reasons for any delays in the process and follow up until completion of testing and ensure the availability of all laboratory consumables and facilitate requirements.
Attend the daily production meetings in order to understand and address issues, pending issues and to also obtain details with respect to pre-pre-production, pre-production and pilot appraisal and update details on white board so as to facilitate required follow up action by the team.
Ensure availability of all style files ahead of commencement of production and communicate with the Fabric technologists.
Assist in the resolving of issues during bulk production such as colour shading, fabric damages, fabric curling, width variations etc.
Maintain a data base, supplier wise pertaining to supplier performance (supplier scorecard) in order to discuss details with supplier evaluation team once in six months.
As part of the accreditation team, undergo training on an on-going basis in order to obtain, maintain accreditations and ensure continuity in certifications.
Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures during the entire physical, chemical testing processes.
Communicate with external laboratories in order to keep abreast of any changes in test methods employed pertaining to tests not previously carried out.
Compare testing charges with those of other external testing laboratories in order to maintain competitiveness in the market.
Conduct co-relation tests between supplier test results and in-house test results pertaining to batches, as and when required in order to ensure consistency in materials. test reports.
Knowledge and Skills:
BSc in Textile and Clothing Technology.
Minimum 3-4 years of relevant work experience in the same capacity.
Sound knowledge in fabric and apparel manufacturing and process.
An outstanding team player with excellent communication skills.
