Description
The Facilities Technician performs maintenance and support services for the buildings and grounds of Southwest Christian School, as directed by the Facilities Supervisor. We are actively seeking to fill this role prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
Essential Functions
- Abides by the policies and guidelines contained in the SCS Employee Handbook
- Performs basic building and grounds maintenance tasks to help maintain safe and efficient operations
- Keeps logs of maintenance work as directed by the Supervisor using a work order management system
- Sets up furniture/equipment for events that take place at the School
- Actively participates in activities that help build a faith community on the campus
- May be required to respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis

Requirements
Educational & Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- A minimum of two years prior related experience is preferred
- Ability to operate a variety of tools and power equipment
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of tools and terminology of the building trades, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Excellent verbal communication skills; including being able to maintain a calm demeanor in the event of an emergency
- Team player with a great attitude
- Able to manage time effectively, occasionally with competing demands for attention

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Temperatures will vary according to the season and specific work site as work may be performed inside or outside. Work hours require some level of flexibility, including evening and weekend as needs arise. On-call time may be required.
