UGL Regional Linx (UGLRL) is a subsidiary of UGL, headquartered in Orange, NSW, with regional depots throughout the state. We focus on creating job opportunities in regional and rural communities, with over 85% of our workforce based in regional NSW. We manage the CRN – Country Regional Network, ensuring safe transportation of people and goods across NSW.
Job Purpose
Effectively and efficiently manage the CRN Right of Way and the associated works activities to deliver an annual programme of preventative maintenance and the associated corrective maintenance works to ensure the public safety, integrity and operational safety of the CRN Right of Way Assets.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the on-site delivery of defined scopes of work on schedule with all stakeholder expectations met.
Provide and take leadership responsibility in health, safety and environment management including safety checks, identifying and recording railway safety issues, reporting, investigating and managing accidents, incidents and injuries; and ensuring works are programmed to conform to CRN safety accreditation requirements and quality standards.
Build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key personnel informed.
Manage industrial relations issues and implications and develop appropriate resolution.
Conduct thorough performance management evaluation for direct and indirect reports as defined by the UGL Performance Management System. Manage the performance of contract resources.
Manage administrative duties for direct and indirect report requirements and contract management.
Ensure compliance in commercial and financial management including meeting budgets and identifying cost saving measures, and report on expenditure including forecasting on a monthly basis.
Review design documentation, read drawings, provide constructive review, and oversee implementation of final designs.
Ensure the timely provision of all resources necessary to meet the work programme.
Effective and efficient planning of all aspects of Right of Way management including resource allocation, maintenance, systems, and incident management necessary to meet the work programme.
Ensure competitive tendering and evaluation of quote/tender submissions, manage contractor delivery of works. Ensure contractual mechanisms of subcontracts are being adhered to and implemented.
Determine appropriate resource allocation including personnel, contractors, plant and material allocation and prioritisation.
Provide leadership in risk management, identify, and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and build a risk management culture.
Manage the overall delivery of maintenance and project work, on or ahead of time with all client expectations met.
Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years previous experience in a similar role;
Extensive experience in Project management of Vegetation, Civil Earthworks, Drainage or Fencing.
Demonstrated competency in track construction and maintenance practices.
Extensive knowledge of the Rail Right of Way assets and associated systems coupled with a firm understanding of the other disciplines (Track, Structures and Signalling);
