Our Asia Pacific Investments business has a large, dedicated and highly experienced investment team which has been investing across the region since 1985, and manages all our Asian products, including regional, country, smaller companies, and sustainable investing propositions.
The team has a strong regional footprint with offices in Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul, and Sydney. This breadth gives us close proximity to the companies we own and the markets we invest in. Our APAC operations have been based in Singapore since 1992. We invest in Asian companies to grow with them and to help them to become better investors
The Role:
The Product Team in Singapore are currently searching for a Senior Product Strategy and Development - APAC person. The successful candidate would be required to perform the following:
- Driving the Product Strategy in APAC, working in close collaboration with EMEA based product team to ensure efficiency and strategic alignment.
- Ensuring Aberdeen is seen as an industry leader in terms of innovation through analysis and interpretation of industry, market and client trends and needs in the region.
- Developing new concepts and conduct market testing, working closely with distribution, product and investments to capture regional opportunities. Overtime this will include engagement with key external ‘hubs’ eg strategic partners, strategic clients, key consultants, global financial institutions.
- Driving and leading product development initiatives which includes creation of new products and solutions and amendment of existing offerings, ensuring they are embedded into the business thereby raising probability of commercial success.
- Bringing new concepts through the product development process working with stakeholders across the company to identify opportunity, potential risks/issues early and providing viable solutions to ensure timely delivery.
- Preparing the relevant documentation and putting them through the internal product governance process.
- Keeping abreast of regulatory and industry developments and consequently assessing potential impact on new and existing offerings.
Requirement
- At least 10 years of product or experience with knowledge of Luxembourg SICAV and the regulatory environment within the APAC region.
- In depth knowledge and experience of investment capabilities and products enabling high level detailed discussions with key strategic investors and stakeholders.
- Ability to build and nurture strong relationships across the industry at a senior level
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships, impact and influence decisions.
- Delivers with excellence. This will include planning and prioritization of product strategy and development agenda.
- Bilingual; English and business Mandarin is an advantage due to market coverage
- Team-oriented with ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
