Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, mixing, and assembling ingredients according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Support cooking activities by following safety protocols and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices to meet food safety standards
- Participate in menu planning discussions and contribute ideas for new dishes or improvements to existing offerings
- Serve food efficiently and courteously during meal service, ensuring timely delivery and presentation
- Maintain organized workstations, including cleaning utensils, equipment, and work surfaces regularly
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and uphold high standards of quality and safety
Experience
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Experience in food handling, food service, or restaurant environments is advantageous
- Familiarity with culinary techniques such as knife skills, meal preparation, and cooking methods is beneficial
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices is highly valued
- Exposure to catering or large-scale meal preparation environments can enhance your application
