An exciting opportunity has arisen to take a Medical Enabler role within the Roche Diagnostics Philippines team. The Medical Enabler is a key strategic role that will help identify and address the relevant medical needs of clinical practice, to successfully support the optimal use of Roche diagnostic solutions. In this role, you will provide technical and clinical expertise and advisory to internal and external customers for all Roche Diagnostics products. This role also develops and executes medical initiatives to support medical strategy/medical plan that will drive the growth of the priority products of the affiliate, develops and cultivates strategic relationships with disease area experts and other external influencers and stakeholders, leads KOL development and engagements in a scientific manner, provides medical support on clinical research, data generation and demonstration projects that will drive strategic growth for the affiliate and participates in health authority interactions.
Key responsibilities include
Development and management of the medical plan
- Align with Commercial Teams: Marketing, Sales and Near Patient Care teams on focused disease areas and products
- Develop local patient journey map and identify diagnostic gaps to position Roche diagnostic solutions
- Align the local medical plan with global medical plan, under the supervision of Head of Access and Medical Affairs
Medical expertise and customer insights
- Inspire high levels of medical expertise and a scientific mindset across the affiliate and instil an enabling mindset throughout the affiliate
- Establish and maintain local medical and scientific independence and assurance of medical compliance, ensuring business integrity and company reputation
- Offer expert opinion on scientific medical information to identify and develop effective peer-to-peer relationships to execute our product strategies, while holding high ethical standards, compliance to Roche SOP and local/ international regulations.
- Research, collate, present, and offer data insights related to the dedicated disease area and product(s)
- Manage the integrity and accuracy of scientific and medical data communication both internally and externally for promotional and non-promotional purposes
- Manage Medical Information activities in accordance with regional/ local model, referencing global standard responses
- Develop a customer centricity culture, making sure promotional/ medical/ scientific communications address HCP needs and optimize patient benefit and safety while keeping a fair balance and compliance with regulations and SOPs
- Provide early insights on new products and indications in close collaboration with the Commercial Team
KOL development, engagement plan and execution
- Identify and develop scientific relationship with external KOLs/experts who are qualified sources of insight and advice
- Develop and maintain regular contacts with top tier KOLs
- Develop KOL deck on priority and focused disease area
- Ensure that all activities towards external experts/ KOLs are harmonized across the affiliate
- Planning and execution of relevant scientific advisory board and expert meetings
- Conduct of KOL training, scientific lectures, and KOL consultative discussions on priority and focused disease area
Patient Safety
- Together with QRA, proactively ensures conduct of assessments and management of safety risks related to local operations in alignment with local regulations and Roche standards
Your key external stakeholders are:
- Oncologists, OBGyne, ID Specialists, Cardiologists, Endocrinologists, Pathologists
- Relevant Medical Associations
Who You Are:
- A medical degree (MD) is preferred, board certification in a medical specialty would be an advantage but PhD or other HCPs with advanced degrees and relevant experience on any of Roche’s priority disease areas: Oncology, Women's Health, Cardiology, Infectious Disease, might be considered.
- Some work experience in commercial and medical roles in the healthcare industry
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to successfully navigate a complex organizational matrix
- Ability to effectively manage extensive networks of internal and external contacts
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate clear messages from complex data/ information
- Deep understanding of local health-care system coupled with ability to understand and address opportunities/gaps for bringing healthcare solutions to clinical practice
- Good understanding of relevant compliance principles and regulations
- an entrepreneurial mind-set coupled with a strong desire to transform healthcare for the benefit of patients
- a wish to work with colleagues across the affiliate, taking ownership and not confined by organizational boundaries
- openness to explore transformational methods and to use new technologies to its full advantage
- a customer centric mind-set and willingness to spend about 30% of time in the field
