Total Hours of Work per Term: 65 hours
Dates: August 17, 2026 – January 8, 2027 (excluding Christmas break and depending on whether TA completes grading responsibilities prior to the end of the semester)
Job Description:
Under the supervision of and in collaboration with the course coordinators, the TA will:
Actively participate in supporting with the teaching material
Independently facilitate a closed seminar group of 10 students in learning group dynamics (21 hours)
Offer tutorials to their assigned students (5 hours)
Participate in group dynamics prep workshops (5 hours)
Evaluate student group dynamics assignments, including establishing inter-rater reliability (15 hours)
Prepare and deliver a lecture related to their interest/knowledge that is aligned with the course (2 hours)
Engage in debriefing and mentorship with the course coordinator (5 hours)
Support course logistics
Organize/communicate with the student pairs to assign them into group dynamics seminars taking into account student accommodations, holy days etc.. (2 hours)
Participate in teaching team meetings (5-6 hours)
Assist in grading the final exam if needed (3-4 hours)
The position will require a combination of online and in-person activities.
Salary: $38.46/hour
Desired Major(s): Occupational Therapy (required)
Desired Degree Level: Bachelors (Prior to 2009) or Masters in occupational therapy
Qualifications:
Current Masters or Doctoral student at McGill.
Graduate teaching experience is preferred and an asset.
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Clinical and/or research experience focused on psychosocial/mental health aspects of occupational therapy practice with any clientele or age range.
Specific knowledge and skills with psychosocial theory/ies (e.g. CBT, Psychosocial rehabilitation, psychodynamic....).
Candidates with experience of facilitating groups (in therapy, community, and/or in research) will be prioritized.
