

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Pathology is seeking to fill Phlebotomy Technician I to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy, labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. Duties to include:
Performs phlebotomy draws
Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required
Orders, receives, and distributes supplies
Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas
Percent of Time: 100%
Schedule: 1330-2200 Monday-Friday, rotating holidays.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Phlebotomy Technician I Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent
Special Qualifications:
Previous public contact/customer service experience
Desirable Qualifications:
Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience
Minimum six (6) months previous experience working in a healthcare setting
Basic computer skills
Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment
Previous patient contact experience
