Lead Network Designer / Hydraulic Modelling
We’re growing our Water team and looking for an experienced Lead Network Designer / Hydraulic Modelling specialist to deliver complex water infrastructure projects for major utility clients across New Zealand.
You’ll lead hydraulic modelling and network design across transmission pipelines, pump stations and large-scale water and wastewater networks, working alongside highly regarded technical specialists across planning, design and delivery.
This role is ideal for someone from a hydraulic modelling, network design or broader water infrastructure background who enjoys solving complex network challenges and mentoring others.
What You’ll Do
- Lead hydraulic modelling and network design for complex water and wastewater projects
- Provide technical leadership across feasibility, concept and detailed design
- Deliver modelling and design solutions for transmission pipelines, pump stations and utility networks
- Work closely with clients to solve complex network and operational challenges
- Mentor developing engineers and modellers within the team
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated infrastructure outcomes
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent)
- Chartered Engineer status, or working towards chartership
- Strong experience in hydraulic modelling, network design or water infrastructure engineering
- Experience delivering water or wastewater utility projects across planning and design phases
- Strong understanding of water networks, pipelines, pump stations and system operations
- Experience using InfoWorks ICM, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, ECM and WSPro
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted client relationships
