You will be the data engine of the Commercial & Strategy pillar owning the numbers that underpin every negotiation, renegotiation, and strategic decision the team makes.
You will track and analyse costs across ACE's full payments stack acquirers, FX traders, APM providers, open banking rails and surface revenue leakage, pricing inefficiencies, and benchmarking gaps that the Senior Commercial Manager uses to build negotiation mandates. You will also work directly with ACE's BI team, defining and commissioning cost of sale dashboards that give the entire PBI function clear visibility of commercial performance.
This is not a back-office reporting role. You will be expected to bring insight and interpretation to your analysis not just numbers, but a point of view on what they mean and what should be done about them.Key Responsibilities Cost Tracking & Benchmarking
Own the ongoing tracking of costs across ACE's full payments partner stack card acquirers, APM providers, FX counterparties, open banking rails, and banking partners. As well as scheme fees and Interchange fees understanding.
Monitor pricing against contracted rates and flag discrepancies, unexpected charges, or tier threshold opportunities. Coordinate with Finance.
Build and maintain benchmarking models that compare ACE's commercial terms against market rates across each partner category.
Produce regular cost summaries by corridor, partner, and product line for the Senior Commercial Manager and Head of PBI.
Revenue Leakage Analysis
Analyse acceptance rate (AR) data across all active payment partners to identify performance gaps and specifically quantify revenue impact
Track downtime incidents, routing failures, and decline rate anomalies translating them into financial impact for commercial escalation
Identify patterns in leakage by corridor, partner, payment method, and time period to support root cause analysis
Feed leakage findings to the Senior Commercial Manager with clear commercial implications and recommended actions
Renegotiation Data Support
Build the evidence base for renegotiation mandates pulling together volume data, cost trends, AR performance, and benchmarking to support the Senior Commercial Manager's negotiation positions
Prepare clear, structured pre-negotiation packs that give the Senior Commercial Manager everything needed to go into a commercial conversation with confidence
Track outcomes of renegotiations capturing before/after rates, annualised savings, and contract terms for the commercial record
New Partner Business Case Modelling
Build financial models for prospective new partners including cost of acceptance, projected volume ramp, margin impact, and break-even timelines
Scenario model alternative commercial structures (flat fee vs blended rate, volume tiers, exclusivity arrangements) to inform negotiation strategy
Maintain a comparable partner database tracking terms, pricing structures, and performance across ACE's existing and prospective partner universe
BI Scoping & Dashboard Ownership
Define the commercial metrics and KPIs that need to be visualised across the PBI function cost of payments by corridor, acquirer, APM, FX partner, and product line
Scope dashboard requirements clearly and in sufficient detail for ACE's BI team to build without ambiguity including data sources, calculation logic, filters, and refresh frequency
Act as the commercial QA layer on all BI output validating that dashboards accurately reflect the underlying commercial data before they are shared with senior leadership
Iterate and evolve the dashboard suite as the business grows, new partners are added, and new corridors go live
Use dashboard outputs as the primary source for weekly and monthly commercial insight reports to the Senior Commercial Manager and Head of PBI
Commercial Reporting
Produce weekly commercial performance summaries covering cost trends, AR performance, and leakage for the Senior Commercial Manager
Contribute data and analysis to the monthly CEO Brief commercial sections and quarterly scorecard
Maintain the renegotiation pipeline tracker and new partner pipeline with accurate, up-to-date commercial data
What We're Looking For Essential
2–4 years of experience in a commercial analysis, financial analysis, or payment’s operations role
Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets modelling skills — comfortable building cost models, scenario analysis, and financial summaries from scratch
Ability to work with large datasets, identify patterns, and translate findings into clear commercial insights
Understanding of payment economics — card acceptance costs, FX spreads, APM pricing structures, or open banking fees
Experience producing structured BI reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders
Clear written communication — able to present complex data in simple, decision-ready formats
High attention to detail with a commercial mindset — you care about what the numbers mean, not just what they say
