

POSITION SUMMARY
The Practice Director is responsible the fiscal management of the outpatient practice operations. The Practice Director oversees the Practice Manager(s), Site Supervisor(s) and other staff within the program fostering professional staff development. The Practice Director provides administrative direction and supports cultivating a collaborative environment of open communication, teamwork, and interdepartmental cooperation.
The Director optimizes common practice operations infrastructure (e.g. EMR implementation, performance evaluation, goal setting, billing, scheduling and reporting). The Director works in concert with the Assistant Vice President and Medical Director(s) in strategic decisions on growth of physician practices, specialties and services, and practice locations. Develops strategies and implements interventions with leadership team and also departmental leadership to improve individual growth and practice performance.
The Practice Director ensures the delivery of cost-effective, quality patient care in support of business objectives and organizational strategic goals.
The Practice Director develops, implements, and administers operational systems that support the clinical practice, to include patient scheduling and registration, managed care, receivables management, budgetary planning, equipment and materials inventory, policy and procedure implementation, and staffing issues. The Director acts as a liaison with ancillary services, third party payers, physicians, and management to resolve customer service, patient care and financial issues. The Director may focus on a specific area of expertise within the administration of the ambulatory site, such as information system administration, reimbursement, financial/budgeting, or business operations.
The Director oversees the development of the financial budget across the service line. This position supports standardization of practices to support accurate data collection for value based metrics.
The Director seeks opportunities to enhance and expand services, managed care contracting and builds strong provider and staff relationships. This position participates in short and long term planning for ambulatory services. The Director supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team- work and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Master’s degree in related field required. In lieu of Master’s degree, Bachelor’s degree required with active pursuit of the Master’s degree and obtained within 3 years from date of hire or transfer.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5-8 years of experience required as an administrative/business manager required. Preferably within an ambulatory care setting or managed care operations. Strong Budget Management/Billing experience required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. Strong Organizational skills required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards of the ambulatory environment, such as exposure to infectious disease, blood borne pathogens, hazardous waste, and potential injury.

This position reports to department leadership and supervises incumbents as assigned.
