The Senior Industrial Engineering is responsible for advanced levels of identifying, implementing, and sustaining cost reduction and margin improvement opportunities, auditing production rates, creating cost analyses, creating Standard Work training aides, supporting Operator Performance Management system, and maintaining product structure in PRMS at all plants. Additionally, this position will conduct capability studies, justify new machinery and equipment, and utilize drafting software to produce optimum designs and maintain the layouts of equipment, material, and building in the manufacturing facilities. They will assist with training and mentoring of new team members. The Senior IE will be responsible for all IE activities at their primary plant of assignment and will also assist with additional plants as needed.
1. Advanced utilization of IE tools and Project Management techniques to identify, analyze, document, implement, and sustain Cost Savings and Margin Improvements to optimize productivity, quality & safety at primary plants and any other plants as requested. Tools include, but are not limited to, Time Studies, 6S, Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Capacity Analyses, Performance Management data analyses & Standard Work creation. 2. Create cost analyses to quantify proposed changes to costs and Earned Hours as well as track realized savings of implemented at primary plants and any other plants as requested 3. Archive and research historical routing and costing data at primary plants and any other plants as requested. Provide data mining of current and archival of product and performance data by creating advanced queries to extract data and reformat into easily discernable spreadsheet, pivot tables, charts, and graphs. 4. Provide support, training, and maintenance of ShopVue Operator Performance Management system at primary plants and any other plants as requested. 5. Process Product Lifecycle Management system (Agile) Engineering Change Orders to establish and maintain product structure, bill of materials, and routings in PRMS system (AS400 at primary plants and any other plants as requested. Create and maintain work instructions, flowcharts, and other training aids for Agile and AS400 processing. Provide guidance for advanced troubleshoot errors in Agile/PRMS processing for cross functional teams. 6. Utilize AutoCad to provide best practice solutions to create layouts for new equipment and layout changes to optimize product flow, increase output, maximize productivity, and prioritize ergonomics and safety, while optimizing utilization of space at primary plants and any other plants as requested. Maintain Master to reflect current equipment, operation, structural, and security equipment Layouts at primary plants and any other plants as requested. 7. Provide project management of advanced complexity projects that results in successful implementation within schedule, on-budget, and achieving expected objectives. 8. Utilize advanced communication skills (verbal, written, and presentational) to present opportunity proposals, provide clear explanations for complex issues, gain buy-in, create and deliver trainings, provide project updates, minimize risks, and build a foundation of trust and respect with all stakeholders (team members, operators, supervisors, managers and executives). 9. Provide training and mentorship to junior team members for all areas of Industrial Engineering competencies. 10. Performs work safely to prevent on‐the‐job injuries by following Company and OSHA safety rules and regulations, understanding machine safeguards, recognizing, and reporting safety hazards, wearing required PPE. 11. Be able to adapt and function in an environment of changing goals and priorities often under tight time constraints. 12. Perform other duties as assigned within the nature and level of work.
Qualifications
Experience as project team leader or supervisor preferred. Experience with Auto CAD and Mini Tab preferred. Must demonstrate a high level of success applying Industrial Engineering fundamentals and principles. Demonstrate planning and organizational skills. Demonstrated advanced level oral and written communication within a team environment. Demonstrate advanced utilization with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word). Skillful ability to prioritize projects based on solution impact, time to implement, and/or direction from leadership. Ability to adapt and function in an environment of changing priorities often under tight time constraints.
Physical Demand Requirements Occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers to touch, pick or pinch objects; reach with hands and arms; push or pull; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use foot or leg controls; talk and hear.
