Location: Onsite - Montreal Internship Duration: August to December (Full-Time) Valnet is seeking a highly analytical and driven Investment Analyst Intern to support the acquisition lifecycle and contribute to the management of our internal investments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. This role reports directly to the Head of M&A and works closely with our Brands and leadership team on ongoing and potential acquisitions.
Responsibilities: • Support the acquisition lifecycle, including market research, sourcing, pipeline tracking, valuation analysis, and due diligence • Assist in evaluating investment opportunities through financial and operational analysis • Contribute to the management of internal investments by supporting operational and financial tracking • Assist with financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and KPI tracking • Conduct data analysis using tools such as Google Analytics and internal platforms to identify trends and insights • Support M&A due diligence by compiling data, reconciling financials, and preparing reports • Assist with ad hoc projects, presentations, and reporting for the investment team Requirements: • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field • Strong interest in M&A, private equity, venture capital, or corporate development • Basic understanding of financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence concepts • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills • Highly motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment • Interest in adtech, media, or technology is a plus Benefits: • Free on-site lunches & coffee • Hands-on experience working closely with senior leadership • Exposure to real M&A transactions and investment decisions • Dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment Who we are: Valnet is a company unlike any other.
