Knowledge Development and Exchange Hub, Renison University College, Affiliated with the University of Waterloo

The KDE Hub is accepting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship. A position is available for consideration by qualified candidates from diverse fields (e.g., population health, program evaluation, public health, health studies, social work, social sciences) who are interested in advancing their evaluation, research, and knowledge exchange skills as well as collaborations with science, policy, and practice colleagues. The successful candidate will participate in a diverse set of scholarly activities, including peer-reviewed publications, innovative knowledge mobilization (e.g., interactive web-based platform with accompanying social media, community of practice design and facilitation, arts-based approaches), population health intervention research and capacity building.
The KDE Hub (http://kdehub.ca) was established in 2019 with funding from the Public Health Agency of Canada. It is a national entity with a focus on mental health promotion. The Hub facilitates connections, knowledge creation and knowledge sharing with projects funded by the federal government, as well as with a broader stakeholder community in the growing field of mental health promotion. This includes support for a newly funded set of projects focused on the mental health of those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. These projects will be diverse but share the common goals of implementing/adapting/scaling up mental illness prevention and mental health promoting interventions. The Hub a) creates new knowledge across funded projects, b) builds community and, and c) strengthens systemic supports for sustaining and scaling promising approaches to mental health promotion.
The appointment is subject to the availability of funds. The annual salary is $65,000 paid in monthly installments.
Candidates must have excellent research and evaluation skills using quantitative, qualitative and/or mixed-methods studies, and have exceptional written and oral communication skills. They must be able to manage multiple concurrent projects and be able to work with limited supervision. Expertise in mental health promotion, system thinking, population health intervention research, knowledge exchange, communities of practice, participatory approaches, collective impact and/or evaluation required.
