About the role
Monday to Friday role working within the Older People’s Mental Health Service (OPMHS)
Provides high-quality care to clients of the OPMHS, addressing physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs, and supporting communication and involvement of significant others
Provide occupational therapy assessment and interventions for OPMHS clients using standardised occupational therapy frameworks, including functional, cognitive, and sensory assessments, group work, and report writing as required
Support clients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team to implement occupational therapy recommendations, with a focus on recovery-oriented care and discharge planning
Provide care coordination and mental health case management for OPMHS clients, including participation in RACF clinics
Contribute to multidisciplinary clinical review, referral triage, and service activities including care planning, discharge planning, data collection, and participation in quality improvement and student supervision
About you
Current unrestricted NSW Drivers License
Recognised Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy and Current Australian Occupational Therapy Registration (AHPRA)
Able to demonstrate competence, knowledge and experience in the management, treatment and care coordination of persons with a mental illness
Commitment to maximising levels of consumer participation in decision making and choices over treatment and management plans
Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary health care team
