Responsibilities:
- prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, menus, and dietary requirements (including modified diets such as low sodium, diabetic, or texture-modified diets)
- Ensure food is properly portioned, plated, and presented in an appetizing manner
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines in compliance with state, local, and facility regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, equipment, and food storage areas
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking, labeling, and rotating food supplies (FIFO method)
- Collaborate with dietary managers, nursing staff, and other kitchen team members to accommodate residents’ dietary needs and preferences
- Monitor food quality and temperature to ensure safety and consistency
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed
- Participate in kitchen cleaning schedules and deep cleaning tasks
- Support special events, holidays, and catered meals as required
Qualifications:
- Previous cooking experience in healthcare, senior living, or institutional food service preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines accurately
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–50 lbs as needed
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
Shift:
- Part-time Every Thursday , Friday, Saturday and Sunday 11am-7pm
