Ginger Cove is currently seeking a PRN/ On-Call Driver (Schedule determined by business demands and includes day, evening and weekend hours) to support our retirement community.
The Driver is responsible for working in accordance with established policies and procedures and/ or specific instructions from the Director of Resident Services or Transportation Coordinator. Provides safe and timely transportation to and from scheduled resident bus trips. Interacts with residents and guests in a friendly manner to ascertain quality care.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure that the attainment of Ginger Cove Mission Statement takes precedence over all decisions and actions.
Arrive prior to scheduled departure of trip and report to the Transportation office.
Maintain assigned resident list for each trip.
Conduct pre and post-trip vehicle inspections as required.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
Document and report any required repairs or issues with vehicles to Transportation Coordinator immediately.
Report any incident and/or accident in facility vehicle to Director of Resident Services or Transportation Coordinator, acting in accordance with Ginger Cove policy.
Report any problems with vehicles to Transportation Coordinator immediately.
Respond to any other requests of the Director of Resident Services or Transportation Coordinator.
Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsJob Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Possession of an unexpired Maryland driver’s license or a CDL driver’s license depending on the type of vehicle driven.
Must have a clean driving record.
Must be able up to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to read, write, and do simple math, and communicate effectively.
High level of organizational skills is a must.
Knowledge and experience working with senior communities preferred.
Ability to maintain a courteous, patient, friendly and helpful attitude with residents at all times.
Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, family members, and co-workers.
Ability to maintain a courteous, patient, friendly and helpful attitude with residents at all times.
Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified timeframe.
Must present self in a professional manner, display genuine concern for elderly and be tactful in dealing with others.
