

Roles and Responsibilities
Understanding capability of product and equipment related to high voltage insulation systems and non-metallic materials testing used in large electrical generators.
Complete specific development, process improvement, and qualification programs for stator and rotor electrical insulation & nonmetallic materials.
Develop electrical, mechanical, and assist with chemical testing plans for insulation/nonmetallic materials and oversee or perform actual tests as needed. Interpret test results and recommend appropriate actions.
Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to develop insulating systems and composites.
Lead/direct RCA investigations for performance on generator rotor and stator materials and shop process quality problems.
Define/perform lab equipment maintenance/replacement with internal facilities repair and external equipment vendors.
Lead local repair engineering team to execute all required activities for qualification and production.
Provide engagement with other repair engineering groups and identify process improvement opportunities for Bucharest shop.
Required Qualifications
Romanian Language and permit for working in Romania.
BS/MS Mechanical Engineering, or Materials/Chemical/Electrical Engineering
Ideally 10 years of relevant generator industry experience.
Ability to understand/test high voltage insulation systems and related non-metallic materials.
Strong analytical, experimental, statistical aptitude.
Ability to be a cross-functional team leader with good interpersonal skills.
Desired Characteristics
Experience with mica-based insulation materials
Experience with epoxy, polyester, and Silicone chemistries.
Experience with thermal classification of materials
Understanding investment, maintenance, and purchasing systems to drive lab equipment maintenance and upgrades.
Experience in manufacturing process qualification and problem resolution for stator bar manufacturing.
