JOB SUMMARY
UT Southwestern Medical Center has an opportunity for a Supervisor, MSRDP Front End Revenue Cycle Department. The successful candidate will supervise the daily operations for the team.
Responsibilities for this position will include the following:
Supervise approximately nine staff members.
Serve as a resource for the Departments of Allied Health Nutrition, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Radiology, Multi-Specialty, IVR (Interventional Radiology) and Adult/Pedi Genetics for all Medicine departments (Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Radiology, Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry and PM&R) in place of service UT Southwestern, CMC, Parkland & THR
Monitors the teams assigned staff’s work queue activity, ensuring the queues are brought in within the expected 30-day metric.
Handles all denials trends/issues which have been elevated by their staff. They must validate the accuracy of the denial and research information submitted and determine the appropriate actions to resolve.
Perform informal audits on new employees as well as a meeting with each of their employees weekly to discuss their collection efforts.
Produce a production report which is sent to their staff daily.
Responsible for identifying areas of deficiencies in their staff and ensuring the appropriate training is provided to bring the staff up to the required expectations.
Maintains attendance records, mentors, coaches and prepares annual evaluation appraisals for each one of their staff members.
Plays an important part in the team’s ability to meet metrics as well as assisting the various Revenue Location in meeting the financial goal of maintaining a collection rate of 95% or greater.
- Work from home - Applicant must live in Texas, but does not need to live in the Greater DFW area
- Shift - Flex-shift, start time between 0600-0900

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
High School Diploma
- Experience
5 years of supervisory experience. and
5 years of experience working in a clinical revenue cycle environment. and
Experience in needed specialty area, such as transplant, may be considered on a year for year basis for up to 3 years in lieu of supervisory experience.
Preferred
- Education
Associate's Degree and may be considered in lieu of years of experience.
Bachelor's Degree and may be considered in lieu of years of experience.
Master's Degree and may be considered in lieu of years of experience.
- Experience
Coding certifications (CPC, CPMA, CMC, ART, RRA, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA) and/or degrees (associate level, bachelor level, master level) preferred and may be considered in lieu of years of experience.

JOB DUTIES
- Exercises responsibility for establishing, reviewing, and revising internal revenue cycle controls/procedures, and workflow to achieve maximum efficiency and personnel utilization; ensures production and quality control standards are met by reviewing management reports.
- Reviews and analyzes information, identifies problems, recommends solutions and/or writes reports for management or other personnel.
- Ensure timely revenue cycle work queue metrics are achieved by their direct reports; assigns workload to meet production requirements; compiles, analyzes and reports status and issues involving all aspects of assigned area; makes recommendations to management to reflect changes by reviewing management reports and other data, identifies conflicts and writes resolutions.
- Monitor charge entry and charge capture quality control thru routine staff and process auditing; ensure charge reconciliation monitoring occurs by Team Leaders.
- Maintains performance standards by counseling employees, performing appraisals and providing required training; assists with quality control testing and reporting.
- Ensures departmental policies and procedures are properly followed; develops and revises policies and procedures as needed; maintains written procedures for workflow by writing or updating procedures as needed; communicates and educates all applicable information to appropriate personnel and affiliated facilities as required.
- Completes special projects and participates in project groups and tasks force teams.
- Backs up manager and employees as required during vacations, sickness, transitions or other absences.
- May supervise/oversee specialized transplant patient referrals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
