Purpose
To oversee the daily operations at both the depot and onsite (receipt, storage, distribution, loading and offloading), making sure that the company HSSEQ policies and operational standards are complied with. Ensure a continuous high standard housekeeping of the depot and provide support to the Depot Manager on whole Depot operations and maintenance activities.
Principal accountabilities
- Conduct daily tanks’ dipping and maintain real-time stock visibility.
- Deliver timely and accurate reporting, ensuring full compliance with contractual and operational requirements.
- Ensure depot fuel availability in stock as per customer requirements
- Drain tanks on a daily basis and report any abnormality immediately.
- Supervise fuel loading, transfer, and unloading operations, ensuring accuracy, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor product quality (density, temperature, visual checks) and quantity control (ullage, seals integrity).
- Enforce strict adherence to HSSE standards and procedures across all depot operations (handling, transport, and delivery)
- Carry out density and temperature measurements when taking dip before/after trucks unloading and/or transfer.
- Check that the product has been sealed after receipt before releasing product.
- Authorize critical operations
- Carry out tank sampling at top, middle, bottom each time required.
- Assist mechanics in the regular tests and preventive maintenance of pumps, tanks etc.
- Ensure proper housekeeping in yard, gantry, office, mess room and pump room, station service at all times.
- Ensure depot record operations: input and storage data
- Supervise and evaluate depot staff and contractors, including daily compliance checks
- Manage availability and tracking of operational materials (seals, delivery documents, consumables, spare parts).
- Deputize the depot manager in his absence
Requirements
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Master's degree preferably in the field of Transport Logistics, Mechanical engineer, or Industrial engineer.
- At least 3 years’ experiences in either Depot Operations, Road Transport operations or Plant Engineering
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate daily depot activities efficiently.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities in operational environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with staff, contractors, transporters, and management.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage operational deadlines.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in stock and documentation management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and operational management systems.
- Analytical and reporting skills, including KPI monitoring and preparation of operational reports.
- Conflict management and people management capabilities.
- Ability to enforce safety culture and operational discipline.
- Valid driver’s license
