Relief Fireman/Fuel Puncher

Compensation: $24.52 (post probationary rate)
Shift: Day shift for training | Rotating shift once proficient
Schedule: 6:00 AM-2:30 PM initially to train | 12-hour shifts
Report to: Maintenance Superintendent
Qualifications, Requirements, & Responsibilities:
- Strong commitment to safety and following safe work practices.
- Must be able to learn and apply knowledge of boilers, fuel systems, steam, and basic power plant operations.
- Perform operational troubleshooting and routine minor repairs on boiler-related equipment to include lubrication and oil level checks.
- Accurately maintain appropriate documentation of boiler logs.
- Clean out grates, ash bins, and hoppers on a consistent schedule to prevent excess build-up within the boiler system.
- Monitor and adjust boiler parameters through the computer system.
- Repetitive handling of materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Operate the loader to supply fuel to the boiler.
- Maintain facility cleanliness from the fuel shed to the boiler.
- Perform other necessary duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Must be able to work any shift.
- Must be able to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays, when required.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, dusty and noisy conditions, heights, and confined spaces.
- Comfortable lifting 2-50 lbs regularly, climbing ladders, and standing for extending periods during 12-hour shifts.
