Join a supportive and collaborative Student Success Team dedicated to helping students thrive from enrolment through to graduation. As a Student Success Assistant, you’ll be part of a passionate group focused on enhancing the student experience by supporting smooth transitions, encouraging progression, and promoting success at every stage of the journey. The team plays a vital role in delivering initiatives that empower both domestic and international students on campus and online to achieve their academic goals, complete their studies, and realise their full potential across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Your New Role!
As a Student Success Assistant, you’ll be part of a supportive team providing frontline assistance to current students. You’ll help students navigate their university experience by answering enquiries, supporting administrative processes and guiding them to make the most of their studies.
Working alongside Student Success Advisors, you’ll also play a key role in supporting student wellbeing and success through targeted outreach and care.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing pastoral care to students experiencing challenges with their studies, with guidance from a Student Success Advisor
Responding to and triaging student enquiries, escalating complex matters when required
Referring students to appropriate on- and off-campus support services
Supporting outreach initiatives for students identified as at-risk or impacted by progression requirements

This casual role attracts a competitive casual rate of $46 p/hr – $51 p/hr inclusive of 25% casual loading plus 12% employer superannuation contributions.

What you’ll bring to the role:
Bring at least 6 months of experience in a customer service role, with a genuine passion for helping others
Confidently connect with people through strong communication and interpersonal skills
Currently completing (or have completed) an undergraduate degree — at least first year at Murdoch University, or a full degree from another recognised institution
Comfortable using a range of computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets and database systems
A proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service by understanding customer needs and going the extra mile to meet them
Please note, the successful candidate will be required to have a valid working with children check or the ability to register for one in accordance with the University's Criminal Record Screening Procedure and Employee Background Checks Procedure.
