Rydym yn bwriadu penodi dau aelod anweithredol i Bwyllgor Cynghori Cymru o 1 Medi 2026. Rydym hefyd yn edrych i benodi Cadeirydd newydd o 1 Hydref 2026. Pwrpas y rôl
Ofcom yw'r rheoleiddiwr annibynnol a'r awdurdod cystadleuaeth ar gyfer diwydiannau cyfathrebiadau'r DU, gyda chyfrifoldebau ar draws teledu, radio, diogelwch ar-lein, gwasanaethau post, telathrebu a gwasanaethau cyfathrebu di-wifr.
Mae Pwyllgor Cynghori Cymru yn rhoi cyngor i gydweithwyr Ofcom ynghylch buddiannau a barn pobl sy'n byw yng Nghymru a'i chymunedau amrywiol ar draws ein cyfrifoldebau rheoleiddio. Mae'r Pwyllgor yn ymdrechu i sicrhau bod gwaith Ofcom yn cael ei lywio gan y ddealltwriaeth ehangaf bosibl o brofiad defnyddwyr a dinasyddion yng Nghymru gan gofnodi anghenion unigryw pobl sy'n byw ar draws gwahanol rannau o'r wlad.
Mae Aelodau'r Pwyllgor yn rhan-amser ac yn dod o amrywiaeth o gefndiroedd. Rydym am ddenu amrywiaeth eang o ymgeiswyr i ddarparu cydbwysedd da o sgiliau a phrofiad perthnasol yn y sector, felly mae gennym amrywiaeth o safbwyntiau a chefndiroedd ar y Pwyllgor. Yn ogystal, rydym am i aelodaeth y Pwyllgor adlewyrchu'r ystod o ranbarthau a chymunedau yng Nghymru er mwyn rhoi golwg ddaearyddol a chymdeithasol mor eang â phosibl.

Mae'r Pwyllgor yn cyfarfod hyd at bum gwaith y flwyddyn, yng Nghaerdydd yn bennaf. Gellir gwneud rhywfaint o waith y Pwyllgor drwy is-grwpiau a chyfarfodydd anffurfiol ychwanegol drwy gydol y flwyddyn. Mae'r ddwy rôl yn cynnwys mynychu cyfarfodydd rhanddeiliaid, galwadau cynhadledd a pharatoi ymatebion i ymgynghoriadau. Yr ymrwymiad amser ar gyfer aelod cyffredinol yw hyd at 12 diwrnod y flwyddyn a'r ffi flynyddol yw £3,000. Mae gan rôl y Cadeirydd ymrwymiad amser o hyd at 24 diwrnod y flwyddyn a'r ffi flynyddol yw £8,400. Telir aelodau anweithredol o dan PAYE.

We are planning to appoint two non-executive members to the Advisory Committee for Wales from 1 September 2026. We are also looking to appoint a new Chair from 1 October 2026. Purpose of the role
Ofcom is the independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries, with responsibilities across television, radio, online safety, postal services, telecommunications and wireless communications services.
The Advisory Committee for Wales provides advice to Ofcom colleagues about the interests and opinions of people living in Wales and its diverse communities across our regulatory responsibilities. The Committee strives to ensure that Ofcom’s work is informed by the widest possible understanding of the experience of consumers and citizens in Wales capturing the distinctive needs of people living across different parts of the country.
Committee Members are part-time and drawn from a range of backgrounds. We want to attract a wide variety of applicants to provide a good balance of skills and relevant sector experience, so we have a diversity of perspective and background on the Committee. In addition, we want the Committee’s membership to reflect the range of regions and communities in Wales to give as wide a geographical and social view as possible.
Essential Skills/Competencies
To apply to join the Committee you will need to show in your covering letter how you meet the competencies below. No previous experience of being a non-executive member is necessary.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate:
Recent knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the communications sectors Ofcom regulates, particularly the broadcasting and media sector.
An understanding of Ofcom’s role and responsibilities in a complex political landscape.
An awareness of Wales and its economy, society and culture.
The ability to appreciate and articulate the diverse needs and views of citizens and consumers in Wales.
The ability to communicate confidently in Welsh is essential for one of the roles.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a committee.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written in order to guide responses to consultations.
Working collaboratively and able to chair meetings effectively.

Further Information
The Committee meets up to five times per year, predominantly in Cardiff. Some of the Committee’s work may be carried out through sub-groups and additional informal meetings throughout the year. Both roles involve attending stakeholder meetings, conference calls and preparation of consultation responses. The time commitment for a general member is up to 12 days per year and the annual fee is £3,000. The Chair role has a time commitment of up to 24 days per year and the annual fee is £8,400. Non-executive members are paid under PAYE.
