Your role and work environment
You will be a member in one of ING’s most strategically important Centres of Expertise within Operational Design, Control & Resilience (ODCR), operating at the intersection of Operational Resilience, Sourcing & Shared Services (Third Party & Intragroup), and Process Architecture & Modelling. This role is central to delivering ING’s ambition to build safe, secure, efficient, and futureproof operations, fully aligned with the COO and ING strategy.
The purpose of this role is to support and strengthen oversight, coordination, and communications across ING’s TIPM and operational resilience landscape. The role acts as a central integrator and advisory partner, ensuring alignment across regulatory stakeholders (ECB, Supervisory Board, MBB), internal governance bodies, and delivery teams. The role supports ING in preparing, coordinating, and communicating key sourcing and operational resilience activities, including regulatory readiness, hub testing and exercising, and concentration and other sourcing risk oversight. The role focuses on clarity, consistency, and transparency, enabling senior management to make informed decisions and demonstrate control to regulators and internal stakeholders.
This position operates across TIPM and operational resilience domains, working at both strategic and tactical levels.
This is a highly visible global role, frequently interacting with senior executives, regulators, and key stakeholders across the three lines of defense.
Your roles & responsibilities
Vision, Strategy & Execution
- Enable a coherent, end‑to‑end oversight view across TIPM and Operational Resilience, aligned with ING strategy and regulatory expectations
- Translate regulatory, supervisory, and management expectations into clear strategic priorities, oversight themes, and focus areas
- Identify risks, interdependencies, and delivery constraints across Operational Resilience and TIPM related initiatives, ensuring timely escalation to senior management
- Act as an integrator between policy, governance, and execution, ensuring strategy is consistently reflected in decision‑making-
- Support leadership in shaping forward‑looking priorities, including response to regulatory feedback, incidents, and structural risk trends
Stay Safe, Secure & Compliant
- Drive preparation, sounding and quality review of materials for ECB meetings, MBB O&T TIPM & OpRes Sub-committee, Supervisory Board, and other senior management forums.
- Ensure consistent narratives on regulatory readiness, compliance posture, and remediation progress across TIPM and Operational Resilience
- Enable senior management oversight through clear summaries of risks, gaps, and control effectiveness
- Monitor alignment with Target Operating Model, ToD / ToE expectations, and regulatory commitments (e.g. DORA, OCIR, TIPM)
- Proactively highlight emerging regulatory or supervisory concerns and support timely mitigation actions
Operational Resilience Testing & Exercising
- Lead coordination of global operational resilience testing and exercising, across critical services, hubs, and support functions
- Ensure testing scenarios reflect severe but plausible end‑to‑end disruption scenarios
- Oversee documentation of outcomes, lessons learned, and improvement actions
- Ensure clear communication of testing results to senior management and governance bodies
- Support integration of testing insights into resilience improvement initiatives and regulatory responses
Change driver behind Operational Resilience and TIPM related initiatives (such as Concentration Risk)
- Consolidate and assess insights on concentration risk and other change initiatives affecting TIPM and Operational Resilience
- Ensure risks are clearly articulated, prioritised, and escalated through appropriate governance channels
- Support management in understanding risk drivers, trends, and mitigation effectiveness
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a central coordination and communication point across business lines, NFR, IT, COO, countries and hub locations
- Build trust and alignment across stakeholders through clear messaging, transparency, and structured dialogue
- Enable shared understanding of priorities, progress, and required actions across the organization
We are looking for
Experience & Expertise
- 7+ years professional experience in banking/business consultancy
- A strong network within the bank and a good understanding of the organisation, strategy and our way of working
- Track record in Operational Resilience, TIPM, Business Continuity, and/or Process Management.
- International experience in Wholesale Banking, Retail Banking, and support functions.

- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and change management skills.
- Proven ability to build collaborative, flexible, and high performing teams.

Education & Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Relevant certifications in resilience, sourcing, business continuity, process management, or risk.
- Excellent command of English.
