Head of Tech (f/m/d)

Location: Frankfurt or Poznań (hybrid)
Scope: Engineering, Infrastructure, Architecture & Security

We are looking for a Head of Tech (m/w/d) who takes end-to-end ownership of our technology landscape.

This is not a pure coding or pure management role. It’s a hands-on leadership position where you orchestrate:

• Engineering delivery
• Infrastructure & cloud setup
• System architecture
• Security & compliance
• Integration of 3rd-party tools and vendors

You will report to the COO and act as a key counterpart to Product, Finance, and Operations.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Technology Leadership (End-to-End)

• Own the full tech ecosystem: application layer, infrastructure, data, and integrations
• Lead and develop a cross-functional tech team (Engineering, QA, Infrastructure)
• Establish clarity, accountability, and execution discipline across all tech functions
• Ensure alignment between business priorities and technical delivery

2. Architecture & Platform Strategy

• Define a scalable and modular architecture that supports:
  • multiple products (lending, factoring, SaaS)
  • multiple countries
  • future M&A integrations
• Drive build vs. buy decisions (internal development vs. external tools)
• Integrate and manage 3rd-party solutions (data platforms, AI tools, APIs, vendors)
• Maintain a lean, pragmatic architecture — avoid over-engineering

3. Infrastructure & Reliability

• Own cloud infrastructure and ensure:
  • scalability
  • performance
  • cost efficiency
• Drive reliability and uptime across critical systems
• Ensure operational readiness during growth and integrations

4. Security & Compliance

• Establish security-by-design principles across all systems
• Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks
• Manage risk in a pragmatic, business-aligned way
• Own external audits, security reviews, and vendor risk management

5. Delivery & Execution

• Ensure predictable, transparent delivery across teams
• Introduce lightweight but effective processes (agile, async-first)
• Drive continuous improvement in:
  • speed
  • quality
  • developer productivity
• Leverage AI tools to improve efficiency and output

Your Profile:

Experience & Background

• 8+ years in software/technology roles
• 3–5+ years in a leadership role across engineering or tech
• Proven experience owning architecture + infrastructure + delivery)
• Background in startup, scale-up, or high-growth environment
• Experience in FinTech, SaaS, or regulated environments is a strong plus
• Fluent in English, German is a plus

Technical Capabilities

• Strong understanding of modern tech stacks
• Experience with cloud infrastructure
• Ability to design scalable, modular architectures
• Experience integrating 3rd-party tools, APIs, and platforms
• Familiarity with data and AI tooling ecosystems
