Position offers a starting salary range of $117,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What you Drive at DTNA
Lead and Develop the Exterior Lighting system for all Class 6-8 vehicles for Freightliner and Western Star
Responsible for authoring all functional system requirements for exterior lighting to meet vehicle performance & regulatory targets
Ensure all regulation requirements surrounding FMVSS108 are met
Develop industry leading lighting solutions with regional and global partners
Collaboration with upstream stake holders (Feature Management, Vehicle Level Architecture & Platform Strategy)
Collaboration with downstream stakeholders (Systems Integration, Product Engineering & Product Validation)
Identify process improvement within the Systems Engineering workflow and collaborate with fellow engineers to implement and continuously improve our processes
Be a strong contributor to the evolution of culture of the Systems Engineering department
Ability to mentor Jr. engineers
Knowledge You Should Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering OR a related field from an accredited college/university, and 5+ years of experience, is required.
Strong background in technical system or component requirements authoring using proper syntax aligned with industries standards.
Experience developing lighting features and functionality rooted in software based design on commercial vehicles or passenger vehicles
Experience in commercial vehicles engineering and an understanding of software and EE architectures used in their development.
Proficient communication skills in both written and verbal forms
Analytical, logical thinking and problem solving skills
Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change
Experience with vehicle communication networks (i.e. CAN, Ethernet, LIN)
Experience with technical requirements management platforms (ELM, JAMA, etc.)

Experience with lighting (either system, controls or component level)
